July 12-14, 2017

The Young Workers Conference is designed to educate and unite the young workers of Arkansas. Through seminars and group activities, the conference helps young union workers learn new tools, connect with other workers and influence their local communities.

Event Description

Because today's schools provide little to no information about unions, a new hire at a union job may not be aware of all the roles that unions serve. The Young Workers Conference, or GenU Conference, is ideal for young union workers in Arkansas as well as anyone new to a union job. The conference teaches workers the importance of unions and what exactly it means to be in a union through innovative seminars and interactive workshops. This two-day conference is perfect for meeting and connecting with other local union members of Arkansas. To take a break from the seminars and workshops, there will be an outing to the Arkansas Travelers Game at the Dickey-Stephens Ballpark. By the end of the two days, every attendee will have a greater grasp of unions and the know-how to make a change in their local community.

This year’s GenU Conference is sponsored by the Labor Education Program, the LEP Advisory Committee, and the Arkansas AFL-CIO. Learn more about the event on our Young Workers Conference Facebook page.
