Alan B. Hughes began serving as President of the Arkansas AFL-CIO in June of 1996 and is presently serving his fourth term. Prior to that, he served two years as Vice President of the State Federation. A member of Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy International Union Local 1327, he has held various local union offices, as well as President of the Texarkana Trades and Labor Council. He lives in Maumelle with his wife, Windsor, and has two daughters, two step-daughters and two grandsons. abhughes@swbell.net
Dan McAlister

Dan McAlister was elected Vice President of the Arkansas AFL-CIO in June of 2005. He has been privileged to actively serve as a labor leader for over thirty-nine years of union membership in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 295. During that time he has served as job steward, JATC committee member, Chairman of the Executive Board, President of the Local Union, Organizer, Assistant Business Manager and for the past eight years he has diligently served the local union as Business Manager and Financial Secretary. He has been elected to several positions within the electrical industry. He is President of the Arkansas State Electrical Workers Association, Chairman of the State Electrical Apprenticeship Committee, Chairman of the IBEW-NECA Retirement Plan, and a trustee representing Arkansas IBEW locals in the NECA/IBEW Family Medical Care Plan and President of the Central Arkansas Building & Trades Association. He lives at Dover, Arkansas with his wife, Pat, and has two sons and one grandson.
Ricky Belk

Ricky Belk was elected Secretary-Treasurer of the Arkansas AFL-CIO in June of 2005. He has served on the State Federation Executive Board since 1995. He is a member and local President of the Communications Workers of America Local 6502. Prior to being elected President he served the local as Executive Vice President for 15 years. Ricky resides in Alma with his wife Melissa. They have four sons Ricky, Joshua, Dustin and Matthew. rpbelk@swbell.net

Heather Hill (OPEIU) Crystal McDaniel
Crystal McDaniel
Crystal McDaniel, Secretary, joined the staff of the State Federation in 2001. Crystal was brought up in a IBEW family and now she is a member of the Office and Professional Employees Union, Local 105. She graduated from Dollarway High School in 1996 and was in the top of her class. Crystal lives in White Hall.
